Frequently asked questions

What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic lashes that are adhered to your natural lashes with a medical grade adhesive. They add length, thickness and fullness to the natural eyelashes.

How long do eyelash extensions last?
Eyelash extensions can last up to 6 weeks.

How often should I get refills?
Refills are recommend every 2 - 3 weeks to keep them full.

How much do you charge for eyelash extensions?
The prices vary on which lash set you are after, all pricing can be found via the website www.beenvious.com.au

Do you refill other techs work?
Unfortunately I do not refill other techs work, as every tech had their own different style and uses different products and it's very hard to create my own style within someone else's work. So 90% of the time the lashes will need to be removed and a new set applied.
Also not knowing which adhesive was used can cause a chemical reaction with my adhesive used and I can simply not risk it.

What if I am booked in for a new full set and have extensions left on from another salon?
Please remove all existing eyelash extensions prior to your appointment, unless you have also booked in for a removal.

Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes?
No! If applied correctly they will not damage your natural lashes. However bad aftercare, pulling, picking etc at the extensions can cause damage to the natural lash.

How do the lash extensions fall out?
The lash extensions can fall out in a number of ways. They will fall out with the natural shedding of your natural lashes and you can lose up to 3-5 lashes per day.
Lash extensions that are too old can eventually fall off and also poor aftercare can cause the extensions to fall out.
In the unlikely event you experience a significant amount of lash loss within the first 3 days of application, please let us know ASAP so we can get you in to take a look at whats happened and top them up for you.

How do I look after my eyelash extensions?
At your initial appointment you will receive an aftercare pack which will give you all the info you need on how to look after your eyelash extensions. You can also find the same info on the website.

Can I wear strip lashes over the top if my extensions?
Definitely not!!! When wearing strip lashes regardless on how far up you place them on the lid, even if you think you are not touching the extensions, they most likely are as the glue expands when placed on the lid. This leaves the strip glue throughout the extensions, which causes the extensions to clump together and is very hard to remove.

Can I have eyelash extensions if I am pregnant?
You can get eyelash extensions if you are pregnant, but at your own risk. If you happen to get a reaction to the extensions you will need to seek medical attention ASAP and there isn't much that can be done for the swelling of the lids while pregnant as you cannot take the medication for it.
Pregnant and breast feeding woman's lashes may not last as long as normal due to frequent hormone changes.
(everyone is different)

I have had a reaction to eyelash extensions in the past, can I get them again?
100% no! once you have experienced a reaction to eyelash extensions then that reaction will not go away and continue to get worse over time, the same reaction will happen regardless of what adhesive is used.

Do I need to do anything prior to my appointment?
Yes, please come with zero makeup on and around the eye area.
Do not wear waterproof mascara during the week before your appointment.
Shower before your appointment as you cannot get your lashes wet for the first 24hrs after application.

What is the different types of lashes you offer?
Classic lashes - 1 extensions per 1 natural lash
Double lashes - 2 extensions per 1 natural lash, using Y lashes
Cashmere lashes - 1 extensions per 1 natural lash using flat cashmere lashes for an edgy look
3D Hybrid lashes - a mix of 1 and 3 extensions per 1 natural lash, using a mix of cashmere and 3D volume lashes
5D Hybrid lashes - a mix of 1 and 5 extensions per 1 natural lash, using a mix of cashmere and 5D volume lashes
3D volume lashes - 3 very thin, fine and light extensions per 1 natural lash, these are very soft and feel more like natural lashes.
5D volume lashes - 5 very thin, fine and light extensions per 1 natural lash, these are very soft and feel more like natural lashes.

How many extensions are attached to the natural lashes?
I don't count the extensions. Everyone has a different amount of natural lashes, so I aim to lash as many of your natural lashes as possible.

Can I curl or perm my natural lashes before my appointment?
Definitely not!!! If you have curled or permed your natural lashes, please make sure they are back to their natural way before you make an appointment, as I cannot lash you with curled or permed natural lashes.

If you have less than 10 lash extensions left per eye at the time of your refill appointment, they can still be refilled, however will only be able to be filled with what can be done within the refill time slot. $10 extra will be added if lashes have less than 10 extensions per eye to cover extra product use.

Please park on the road directly out the front of my house only, not on the nature strip

What if i'm early to my appointment?
If you happen to be early to your appointment, please send me a message and wait until I reply to make sure i'm free.

What if i'm late to my appointment?
If you are running late to your appointment please let me know. This time will come out of your appointment time which means less lash time or rescheduling your appointment.

2 days notice must be given to cancel your appointment, otherwise fees will apply.

What if I don't turn up to my appointment?

Why do you have a cancellation policy?
A cancellation policy is set in place to cover my lost time that could have been filled by another client.

Can I bring family/friends to my appointment?
Please come on your own to your appointment.

Can I bring children to my appointment?
Unfortunately not. For insurance purposes, children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the salon.

Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
Please remove ALL eye makeup before your appointment. If eye makeup needs to be removed at your appointment, this will cut into your lash time. Please come with clean fresh lashes.
